Hallucination Phantoms is nearly ready. Only one of my favorite songs from the last 18 months of sessions fit this record... it has a very specific mood and flow. This means that a more song oriented record will follow sometime in early 2012.

Tristin and I started practice today and, much to my surprise, pulled rough versions of 5 songs together in a scant three hour session. No easy ones here, we ended up tackling challenging stuff, tricky rhythms for me and complicated solo rewritten into psychedelic/post-punky basslines for him. The new line-up is being brought in, one person at a time and though it will take months before we are all playing together consistently, this will be the new line-up which will finally go play shows and, eventually, go on a west coast tour. We are a growing beyond the fluctuating two to four piece for the first time to a five piece!

Caught the Twin Shadow concert (with The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart and the dreadfully cliched hipster douches Seapony) and Kurt Vile tonight. A good weekend, some great shows and got to spend some time with some old friends as well.

Got a spare ticket for a cool show tonight and can't seem to find anyone to go... things sure change when you reach your thirties.

Just got back from a weekend out. Pretty good times overall and feeling a bit better. Trying to keep my head about me... been pishing myself too hard and that needs to be dealt with in the coming weeks. I know my limits and need to pay attention to them more consistently.
