Private Journal

Apr 26, 2033 00:23

My journal is now almost all private. My soon-to-be ex-wife was searching through it for information.

Comment here to be added to my friends list; some posts might eventually be considered inane enough for me to let friends see them again.

Yes, you remain on my friends list. :) I'll still read you and comment, but will just not post much.

Hiyas. I'd like to stay, if that's okay. I care about what happens to ya and how you're doing.

Yes, I plan on keeping you on there, just no friends in common with my wife. :)

Usually, I'm a pretty paranoid defender of the community. I'll allow this one only because of the association with student teachers; usually spam gets deleted right away.

Please read the community rules and if your post is longer than 10 lines or contains any larger photos, please make sure they are behind an LJ cut... or I will take the axe to the post. ;)

Best of luck with the project. :)

I'd like to add you as a friend, as I see we have quite a few things in common, both being secondary science teachers and self-professed geeks among the two biggest commonalities we have. Would you be amenable to this?

Yes, we have some thing in common...and in some ways we are clearly very different. Your profile and "warning posts" are so detailed I can see right away two of our differences:

1) You probably follow the advice in your poem

Easy to bitch
Easy to whine
Easy to moan
Easy to cry
Easy to feel like there ain't nothin' in your life
Harder to work
Harder to strive
Hard to be glad to be alive
But it's really worth it, if you give it a try

...whereas I merely admire it while I continue whining, and do not often feel that strong.

2) I get the impression from your profile and warning post that you do not tolerate fools glady, whereas I take pride in my tolerance and diplomatic skills.

If you can handle 1 and 2 here, then I am totally amenable to becoming friends with you. :)

I believe I can handle 1 and 2. The lyrics are from a song called "Easy" that came out a few years back by a group called Cowboy Mouth. When I heard it, I immediately identified with it. It's not that I never whine, because I'll be the first to tell you that I do, but I do it and then get over it and figure out how to fix what's causing the whining. :)

I also have mad diplomacy skills but occasionally I will rant and rave in a most undiplomatic manner in this space. I do it here to prevent me from doing it aloud in real life. :)

I'll be glad to add you.
