1) Scorpius Malfoy has been in love with Rose Weasley since the age of 5, when she decked him for sticking a finger in her treacle tart at Albus Severus’ birthday party. He decided at that very moment that he would marry her.

2) Scorpius is proud of his extensive collection of Muggle ‘magic’ tricks along with the fact that he has the skill to make the illusions work flawlessly without using real magic, although grandfather Lucius sneers at his efforts whenever he entertains the family. Grandmother Narcissa says nothing, but secretly gifts him with a new illusion every Yule and birthday.

3) Scorpius knew from an early age that neither Ron Weasley nor his sister Ginny liked him, and that was just fine by him. The disliking was more than mutual, but he never let on. In dealing with the both of them he was unfailingly respectful and genuinely polite. Privately, he promised himself that he would have his revenge on the both of them before it was all said and done.

4) Scorpius loves his father more than anything and wishes that he could do more to make him smile more often. He sees how hard Draco works, helping to rebuild the Wizarding World in hopes of redeeming the Family Name and hates it that others, who sat back and did nothing either during or after the War, think they have the right to look down upon him.

5) Scorpius secretly despises mirrors and avoids them whenever he is able to without drawing attention to the fact. It doesn’t matter that he is a handsome, charming, emotionally warm boy. It means nothing that he is caring, thoughtful, and intrinsically good. Because, at the end of the day when he stares at the reflection of his hereditary gray eyes he sees only one thing: that he is still a Malfoy.

6) It took the Sorting Hat a full three minutes to reluctantly place Scorpius in Ravenclaw, because the Hat initially wanted to place him in Gryffindor, and Slytherin, the Hat’s second choice, just wasn’t a viable option in his books. Since he had no intention of being disinherited at such an early age, he argued with the piece of magical haberdashery until it placed him in Ravenclaw.

7) James Potter hadn’t been his favorite person before Hogwarts, but when Albus Potter and Rose Weasley were both Sorted into Slytherin, James made it his personal mission in life to harass his younger brother and cousin whenever he could. Scorpius made it his personal mission in life to secretly prank and humiliate James with every opportunity that presented itself, and the opportunities were myriad. He almost regretted not allowing the Hat to put him in Slytherin now that Albus and Rose were there; not quite, but almost.

8) From his Second Year until he graduated, Scorpius played chess once a week with the portrait of Headmaster Snape in the Room of Requirement. It was a form of escape from all of the pressures and expectations of the outside world. Headmaster Snape understood all about external pressures and expectations and didn’t think less of him for taking this bit of time away.

9) Scorpius was a wonder on a broom, much better than his father ever was, but he adamantly refused to play Quidditch or try out for his House team for personal reasons which he shared with no one. He was both shocked and pleased when his mother and father stood up to Lucius regarding his decision.

10) When he turned fifteen, Scorpius started having prophetic dreams, but he kept this information to himself. With a bit of cunning, he was usually able to pass on information as concerns based upon ‘the collective observations of a swot’; keeping those he loved from harm’s way without exposing his talent. As he grew older, others frequently commented on how unusually perceptive he was. Scorpius knew better and kept his own council.

11) Scorpius’ favorite place while growing up at Malfoy Manor was Narcissa’s Rose Garden. If he wasn’t at the Potter’s spending time with Al, Lily, and Rose, he was in his grandmother’s rose garden sharing the beauty, fragrance, and silence with the older woman. They never spoke, but then again, they didn’t need to.

12) Scorpius vowed that when he finally married, he would have at least four children. He hated being an only child with a passion. It was lonely and he loathed the fact that all of the Malfoy Family hopes rested upon his shoulders. The only thing that made the situation somewhat bearable was his status as unofficial brother to Al and Lily Potter.

13) When he was sixteen, Scorpius Dreamed that both he and Rose were chosen as Heads for their year, so it was no surprise to him when the letters confirming the fact arrived before the start of their Seventh Year. It also didn’t hurt that he’d won the House pool with his lucky ‘guesses’.

14) When Scorpius was seventeen, he was shocked to discover that his father looked at Hermione Weasley in the same manner in which Scorpius looked at Rose. He vowed that very moment that he would make his own desires a reality if at all possible. It didn’t matter to him what his grandfather thought; Scorpius wasn’t afraid of him. Lucius’ time of ascendancy had passed and Scorpius’ was on the rise.

15) Scorpius was lauded by Hogwarts faculty for helping break down House barriers and being instrumental in improving inter-House relations. With Lily in Gryffindor, Hugo in Hufflepuff, Al and Rose in Slytherin, and himself in Ravenclaw, inter-House relations were nothing more than a foregone conclusion. They were all fast friends and willing to take on all comers. The fact that they were all adept with a wand and easily made new friends made them a force to be reckoned with. That he, along with Lily, Hugo, Al, and Rose, received an award for services to the school for doing nothing more than maintaining friendships that had existed before they arrived at Hogwarts made him laugh on a regular basis.

16) Rose went to the Yule Ball with him, but only because they were Head Boy and Girl, along with the fact that it was ‘Tradition’. She refused any other attempt of his to date or formally court her while they attended Hogwarts, but Scorpius wasn’t worried… he’d Dreamed this. Instead, he focused on studying for his N.E.W.T.s and smiled. He’d known that he would be refused at this point, but he’d needed to plant the seeds of his interest for later.

17) Scorpius was accepted as an apprentice to the Spellcrafters Guild upon graduating from Hogwarts. Only he and Harry Potter were aware of the fact that it was Harry’s decision to stand as character witness for him that allowed him to gain acceptance into the exclusive Guild in the end. His professors thought it was due to his academic excellence and his natural facility with and understanding of magic and how it worked. His family felt that it was only his due as a Malfoy; although his father did privately disclose to him that he was the first Malfoy to successfully apply and be accepted in over four hundred years. Scorpius never had the heart to tell them that he was almost summarily rejected because he was a Malfoy. Sometimes it was better to let people believe what they wanted to believe.

18) As a child, he learned to ride and would accompany his mother on horseback, exploring the extensive properties of the Manor with her. While pursuing his Mastery on the Continent, Scorpius discovered Muggle equestrian sports and started taking courses in Dressage as a form of relaxation during his apprenticeship. He loved the silent communication that was necessary between him and his horse. He also enjoyed his relative anonymity - he was only recognized for his growing skill which had nothing to do with being a Malfoy, and this pleased him to no end.

19) During his second month as a Spellcrafting initiate, Scorpius developed a charm that allowed him to secretly send missives with small tokens of his regard attached, to Rose. The charm would only make the delivery if she was alone and willing to accept. He sent her something every week without fail. Rose never wrote him back; nonetheless, in the seven years of his apprenticeship, not one letter or token was rejected.

20) The first thing Scorpius did upon obtaining his Mastery was to return to England and propose to Rose Weasley. When she immediately accepted, both Ron and Ginny cried foul and had her tested for every form of coercive magic known, to no avail. Scorpius had his revenge on Ron, Ginny, and to a lesser extent, Lucius just by steadfastly loving and marrying the woman of his dreams and Dreams. At this particular moment in life, it was finally good to be a Malfoy.
