Round Five of the Harry Potter Random Facts Fest is now open!

The purpose of the Harry Potter Random Facts Fest is to encourage people to write 20 Random Facts Meme entries so that others may use those random facts as prompts for their own fan works. The fest has two phases and runs from today through December; the master list will be posted on 1 January. The fest is hosted on LiveJournal but open to anyone who journals at an LJ-based service. There is no limit to how many entries participants may submit in either phase of the fest, more than one writer may write about the same character, and sign-ups aren't required for participation.
Rounds One, Two, Three, and Four were tremendous fun! Participants explored characterization in canonical and fanonical contexts, discussed each other's views about the Potterverse, and discovered new writers, artists, and friends.

You don't have to post your entries to the comm at any of its sites in order to participate in the Harry Potter Random Facts Fest, but you're welcome to post to any of them if you'd like to promote your meme-related fan works somewhere other than at your personal or writing journals. :)

I enjoy hosting the Harry Potter Random Facts Fest because it's my way of meeting new fandom people and encouraging people new to fandom to participate in it. Wherever you lurk or play in the HP fandom, however you envision the characters of interest to you, whichever genres you prefer to explore, whatever media you use to produce your fan works, you are welcome to participate in the fest. My goal is to see as many takes on as many characters by as many fen as possible-and for everyone who becomes involved in the fest to have a great time!

- Publicly post this meme entry to your journal with a standard header and under an lj-cut tag.
- Rate your meme entry G, PG, PG-13, R, or NC-17.
- Link to the HP Random Facts Fest in your header.
- Reply to this post with the title of and link to your meme entry.
How to Participate in Phase Two (November-December): Produce fan works inspired by the meme entries!
- Read and review the meme entries as I list them in this post.
- If you take inspiration for fic (of 500 words or more) or art (of any form) from the random facts, create your fan work.
- Publicly post this fan work to your journal with a standard header and under an lj-cut tag.
- Rate your fan work G, PG, PG-13, R, or NC-17.
- Link to the HP Random Facts Fest in your header.
- In your header, also include the user name of the meme entry author from whom you took inspiration, link to his or her meme entry, and say which random fact(s) inspired your fan work.
- Reply to this post with the title of and link to your fan work.
