Another interesting statistic is, anecdotally provided, that boys suffer more from ADD/ADHD than girls. They also suffer from mental disease more.
I see the problem in my g/f's son. Boys get into video games and sedentary activities which, while stimulating the mind in some ways, don't lead to the skills that help in school.
The ADD/ADHD stuff is true. Also, autism appears in males some multiple times more frequently than it occurs in females.
Sometimes I read articles talking about how "If men suffered from PMS we'd have had a cure by now." But the fact of the matter is that we are no further ahead with, as an example, testicular cancer than we are breast cancer.
In some ways I have a bigger gripe with the concepts behind a lot of people's motivation. "Feminism" is great for women, and as a side benefit when the women are happier that has a potential upside for men. But "equality" rings truer for me. It's easy to find examples of how your gender is being short-changed. But it's sometimes harder to see the total picture.

Amen, brother!
I've actually been reading about this for a few years. It's unfortunate that this has happened :( Although I don't think either gender is being particularly well educated.
The shiney glitter of *bling* wears off pretty quickly, I'd guess... The rich luster of a degree, though, lasts a while longer.
I can't remember where I heard a conversation where one African-American woman was talking about taking an ex-convict and molding him into the man he could be... probably was in a movie. But basically her argument was 'if we aren't willing to do this for them, who will?'
Yup, I did. :-) We're still trying to tackle the mound of Thank You cards from the wedding and didn't get to send out Christmas cards this year. Hopefully next year will be a little less busy for us!
Oh yea. Put a lot of it on my journal, but to sum up, it's to get the car all safe this year with a cage, firesuit and window net, fix some of the mechanicals, get it race ready and race! LGR (Lake Geneva Raceway) is my main track, but I'm going to check Illiana out and *maybe* Grundy, if they race 4 cyl.
Things are good otherwise, my girl and I bought a house and we're living together. VERY nice situation. Work is meh. If it wasn't, work would be called fun.
