I knew we were going to get short-changed with a 6 episode season. They are not devoting time to this at all and the story telling. It is all too rushed and all that. There have been inklings of the blood thirsty Dany in earlier seasons - but was not expecting them to have her go full mad Targaryen really. I don't think it came out of nowhere but there was no progression to it since the season was so short - no build up to it - so it really makes no sense. We don't get to see her descend into the madness, do we? It's like BOOM - she goes. I am not getting why we only have a 6 episode season - they really could have used the full 10 episodes to do this the right way and give us the ending we really should have - tell us the story! Make us believe!
Anyway. I hate it but I am going to watch the whole thing.
It's definitely too rushed and unsatisfying, but at least they did a passable job with the Night King and the White Walkers. It was a bit of a quick ending for such a series-long villain, and we never got the explanation we deserved for the existence of the Night King, but the battle in episode 3 was at the very least well done. What they're doing now is just plain awful, otoh.
And yes, I'm visibly more upset about Dany than anything else because she was my favorite character. And how much do I hate having to say "was"? UGH! But it's the general treatment of women that pisses me off. I shouldn't be surprise with a show that used rape as a plot point since day one, no, but still I suppose the first 3 episodes of this season (and the end of the previous one) fooled me into thinking we might get something better this time. Idiot me.
