I don't know about character, but it's building ulcers, at least... spanambula November 4 2005, 14:54:00 UTC
I'm a big fan of being a "follower" myself. Then I have my moments when I think, "Okay, the solution is so obvious to ME, why aren't we/ they doing it that way?" Usually I'm too reticent to try and persuade others to my way of thinking.

So I understand your gastrointestinal butterflies.

Sorry!

Yea! Politically incorrect linguistic perfectionism!

I'll be keeping you in prayer. *Pauses* Not that I don't typically keep you in prayer. Ur, you know what I mean.

I know what you mean. I don't like leading -- call me paranoid, but people behind me give me the creeps. And I'm not fond of following, because most people do not have attractive butts. Notwithstanding, it's people like us who do make the best leaders because we do not WANT to lead, much less RULE, so we relinquish authority once the necessity has passed. People who want to lead and rule should not be allowed to lead and rule because they inevitably become dictators and tyrants, staying in power long after the need for them has passed.

I'd trust you to tell me what to do. As one of my sisters, you do have the right to tell me when to sit down and shut up. I've given it to you. And I gave it to you exactly because you do not want it. You can be trusted with that authority.

For using the correct third person singular pronoun! The use of "they" to denote one man or one woman is a major pet peeve. It's enough to make me want to hurl large chunks of adverbs!
