I had no idea Bright Eyes had a Christmas CD. Does it actually have...tidings of comfort and joy?! I didn't think Conor Oberst believed in comfort and joy.

I'm glad you had a good Christmas too, lovely!!

He doesn't. In fact, the only song on the album he believes in is Blue Christmas. Which I hope he sings to himself in his cry corner every holiday with a big shot of vodka. Hey, it's Christmas, make it TWO big shots.

Conor Oberst! BLUE Christmas! Sadness! Ahahahahaha!

When I first got the Bright Eyes Christmas album and heard his version of Blue Christmas, I laughed for at least 5 minutes. It's the PERFECT Conor Oberst Christmas song, originally sung by Elvis! There's comedy in that; at least for me there was.

He says the words comfort and joy during God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, so I suppose for Conor, that's kind of like seasons greetings? Who Knows...

That's the only Christmas album I have, too. Well, that and a few scattered songs by Ben Folds whose only claim to Christmas is that they somehow work it in to the title.

I listened to Bright Eyes for a good part of Christmas morning because somehow, Ben Folds cursing, while funny, just didn't seem seasonal.
