Oogh. Sorry you've been having such a grotty time of things. Thinking of you guys, and hoping and praying that things start improving now with the meds.
Yeah, yay for the NHS. At least the Tories'll have a harder time dismantling it in Scotland.
The way I view and viewed the iffy drugs I took while pregnant (mostly benadryl and other antihistamines) was that the effects of the drugs would be at MOST comparable to the effects of the hormones that were flooding my body due to my severe allergies. Histamines and adrenaline and such are not harmless agents. So, while prednisone is a little more iffy than benadryl, I say yeah, taking the drug that allowed you to get enough oxygen (and therefore relieving your stress, not to mention inflammation, levels) was probably the best choice all around. Plus, I doubt that they would have recommended it otherwise.
So, so glad your work is supportive, that you have the NHS and that the baby is doing well. Please give Chris even more sympathetic hugs from me.
