A long overdue and extensive update

I write to you from Tennessee for what could very feasibly be my last time. I depart from Knoxville's McGhee-Tyson Airport at 6:18 p.m. today for a two-month residency in New York City with Scholastic Publishers. On Sunday 9 March I will return to Tennessee, only to flee to Chicago the following weekend for a weekend in Chicago to see the Magnetic

Also, I will be in England in the fall for a week or so visiting Johanna in Wales and visiting London, so I will need to see you then as well.

Hopefully I can see you when you get back from New York before Chicago.

Leslie, I read your journal with rapt and undivided interest. It's remarkable to me how close we are in age and how far apart we are in lifestyles... it's absolutely beautiful, fascinating and humbling. I congratulate you on all that you're doing and only wish we could've chilled while I was in town =( I'll never forget selling you that Metric CD.

Maybe we could get together when I'm back? Lunch or something, even with Ms. Julia!, would be awesome, although ideally I'd like to kick it over dinner and wine with you (and the mister, if you can bring him along).

also you should know, my sister interned with believer magazine and workshopped at 826 Valencia.She became good friends with his wife, Vendela Vida. She met up with Dave Eggers, and apparently told him some things about me. Anyway, he sent with my sister a gift of a mix CD made just for me! I listen to it alot. With his instructions.

So thats my tie to Eggers. dont forget about me ok?
