Hah! The Department of Evil (DOE) is probably a spoof on the Department of Energy (DOE)... The real DOE has been eliminating its departments that are not directly connected to some foreign or domestic security/ military/ industrial endeavor (there went my DOE Environmental department, which stepped on the wrong toes by shutting down Hanford for a while and was drawing a few pennies away from Iraq). I know this because my company is the DOE's contractor. I'm one of the few survivors of the many downsizings affecting my particular group, indicating that Evil finds me temporarily useful to itself (at which time I shall no doubt join the rest of the Doomed Populace). I'm not sure whether to be grateful for a paycheck or very sad about the fact that the Department of Evil finds me useful.
