Anyone else unable to access Facebook? It's been down for quite a while, and I'm suspecting a denial of service attack. -
Goat update...
Goat fence is almost up... The solar battery is charging and most of the wire is up. We have to get two more grounding rods today and string up a bit more wire, and it will be done. I can't wait to see them frolicking in the pasture. There's nobody quite so masterful at the art of sheer enjoyment and frolicking as a young goat. They're a delight ( Read more... ) -
We have goats!
rialian completed the goat pen and our 3 goats are now home! We'd been visiting them since they were born around 6 months ago but were waiting until they were weaned and had all their antibiotics before bringing them home. They absolutely adore rialian, and maaah for him when they see him! They love people in general and are very social. They'll be penned up ( Read more... ) -

There's a bat in our hallway. Not a little bitsy baby one either - a huge one (probably Dracula from the looks of him). Everyone's running around like a crazy fool yelling "Call the emergency number QUICK!!!" The poor bat is sailing back and forth forlornly looking for his habitat. I have a field full of wild carrots (Queen Anne's Lace) outside my house, and so was wondering if anything tasty could be made from them. They're a relative of regular carrots, and not that different in taste, apparently. This recipe came up when I did a search ( Read more... ) -

Why I list a fake birthday
I hope everyone had a happy Ruination Day yesterday. Yes, that's right, my actual birthday, as opposed to the one I list on LJ, is April 14, also known as Ruination Day.
