Last year's hopes lie
crumpled in my closet
next to dusty daydreams and
mothball memories.
Alliteration makes me shaky,
sick;
nausea claws my mind.
I had nine lives
until you came around.

I'm quite narcissistic today. Every day, really, but today I don't like it. I watched House and it made me cry.

Shifting strips of sunset tiptoe past,
singing wood burned lullabies
dusting summer silence with laughter.
Soon -
too soon - nighttime sashays in,
curves touched with honey
spritzed with heat.
I'm mesmerized in sensual
melodies.
Oh, that her arms held sleep instead of
murder.

The air is twitchy,
spastic,
sullen.
It shuffles by
making snide comments
and we gossip, breathing half-truths and fables,
asphyxiating in our own guile.
My soul heaves
but only hate comes out.
