Hmm... the flashback is breaking up. Get on with it CLAMP. The work will pile up then you won't be able to do that new manga in 2009. And the ending better not be something like Syaoran just stabs him in one go and the end.
I have a theory on Clow. I believe everyone's suggestions to be correct, that he may be CCS Clow Reed. It would explain a lot of things. Now, as for how Clow replaced Fujitaka, I think he foresaw the time-space continuum collapse and went to Clow Country, probably after sensing these events, where he contacted Fujitaka (possibly before the birth of either Touya or Sakura). Nadeshiko could probably back Clow up, so they agree, yatta yatta etc etc. Then the day comes where Clow 'dies' and he goes back to his world, where his true death occurs. It's just one possibility.
Same thing with Sakura's mother in CCS, it is never said how she died, it was just that she died. The same with Sayoran's Father in CCS, the one time he was mentioned, Sayoran said his father had passed on when he was young.
So for Clow to pull off, two people, Eroil and Fujitaka, and Clow pretended to die......what if Clow isn't even dead. Then again, Yuko did say he did die.....this is messed up.

I'm of the belief that both Clow and Eriol are dead.
