Nation-tans are born in normal human families (either peasant or royal, it's up to AA), but, as they're nations, they grow up realy slow compared to humans, during wars stigmata appear on their bodies, and they're generally considered social outcasts, sometimes either evil or heaven-sent. They end up being abandoned (or the parents simply die when they're still little children) and have to be taken care of either by each other or other people. Whether they remember their original parents or where they come from is also up to AA.
