Appointment with Dr Kennedy from the Monash Gender clinic at 10.30 this morning. Firstly, I found 2 hour parking directly across the road from her office (rare). Her secretary Margaret told me she wasn't running behind today, so I got in to see her about 10 minutes after my appointment time. Thanks! Yes, most excellent! And them paying for it too, which is NOT something they do all the time! I have never seen Dr Kennedy smile as much as she did when she had that good news to give me. It's thanks to her I'm going to probably get it done before our summer, because she took it to the committee to approve me, even though I've been at the clinic less than the 'standard' time, because she didn't want me to suffer with these oversized things (which she said she'd have supported a major reduction of even if I was female-identified) through another hot summer.

Hi Simon if you would like that offer to take you to hospital and return and come help look after you post surgery is still there. I'm so happy for you fantastic news mate for sure..

Yes, please, Irene, that would be wonderful. I won't be in for a long time like Vicki was, (whatever he quotes as the minimum time probably knowing me- I heal fast and don't cope with hospitals so as soon as what I need can be coped with by a district nurse- or by me they usually let me go home ( ... )
