一天，一位年轻人给她住在附近的镇上的女友写信。在信中，他告诉她，他非常爱她，她是他 的唯一，为了能和她在一起，他愿克服任何困难，经 历任何艰险，愿意面对可以想象出的最大危险。他越写越有诗意，继续写道，如果能和她一起度过一分钟的话，他情愿攀上世界上最高的山峰，有过世界上最宽的河 流，进入最深的丛林，同最凶恶的野兽进行搏斗。
他写完了信，签上了姓名，而后他忽然想起忘了提及一件十分重要的事情，因此，在名字下边的附言中，他又补充道：“顺便说一下儿，如果星期三晚上不下雨的话，我要去看你。”
