Looking to understand

I'm trying to figure out how to word this request without sounding hostile. I can only say that I'm not here to attack or condemn but only to understand. I'm looking for logic, not a fight. I'm trying to understand the philosophy. I want to be convinced that there is sound reasoning behind what I'm seeing.

However, I'll add one thing. If you are being arrested and you don't cooperate, force will be used. That force needs to be reasonable to the situation and justifiable. However, most of these videos only show the force being used and they edit out why the force is being used. If you watch nothing but the one sided videos you can draw no other conclusion than force was not justified, mainly because they cut that part out.

The Rodney King video was never shown in it's complete form to the general public. The media edited it, and showed only the police brutality of the situation. Few ever saw the beginning of the incident, where King was literally resisting arrest, and hurting the officers. A lawful arrest was being made and he resisted and, unfortunately too many officers became involved while attempting to arrest him ( ... )
