What a winding road the last 6 months have been. There is a lot of good to report, and some not so good. Overall, I think the last bit of time has given me the strength to make it past the next few months without snapping mentally or breaking down physically more than I already have ( Read more... )

I'm going to be busy Sunday... Cake deco class in the morning, kid's b-day party in the afternoon, retrieving Conor from his father in the evening.

How's Saturday? And what should we do?

And Aliki, you ought to come out and play!

That 2nd to last paragraph? Yeah. Exactly. But I've had nearly six years to get used to it, so it's all good. We DO need to carve out some time to hang out though. ;-)

I think everyone is "hermiting" a bit hard these days. I have a tough time reaching out to folks, and I don't even have any kids.

Thank goodness Blair lives near by and we don't even need a reason to hang. We just do. I don't have many friends I can do that with these days. Most friends require appointments and arrangements. That is just the way it goes when we get older and our lives get busy and complicated, unless we live next door to our friends.

I think that is why I have been posting so much personal stuff on LJ lately. I guess it is my feeble effort to keep in touch with folks who wouldn't normally have occasion to sit and ask how I am doing. I know there are a lot of folks that just log on to see what is up with everyone else, no time to post for themselves.

Yeah, I realized that about 10 mins after posting this... Which was probably 10-ish minutes after commenting on your post about saying goodbye to grandma... Which shows you just how clearly I'm thinking these days. *facepalm*
