Someone kill me, please. I was telling my mom about Chuck Palahniuk's most recent book (that I've been reading when I need a break from Naked Lunch - yeah, the things I do to my brain) and I said, "It's cool the way he writ it." Now, I don't know if that's exactly how you spell the word, but I'm assuming so. I just, there's no excuse. None at all. ( Read more... )

killing oneself is not the answer. :P i've never read any ofchuck palahniuk's books. i've checked them out from the library, told myself i would read, but then i somehow always manage to turn them in several weeks late without having read a word. (libraries and i don't get along, by the way. i have five books that are over 12 months overdue now. :P)

Alright, no killing. I suppose that won't help my writer's block much. Which I'm sorry for, I really wanted to write you something, but yeah, I've got nothing. :(

I don't know if you'd like Chuck. He's kind of graphic, and disturbed. Which is exactly why I like him but, hey, I like slasher flicks, so I'm not sure that says much really. If you like to be shocked/horrified/repulsed by what you're reading, then go ahead! If you can find the short story Guts online -- which you should, since I first read it on the internet, I think -- and can get through it, you'll be able to handle him. But then, everyone likes Fight Club.

My new favorite place ever is this discount book store where you can find anything. It's brilliant because you can turn your old books in for a credit then go and buy more. I have so many books, it's not funny. We've got multiple shelves in the garage for books because there was no room for anymore in my bedroom.

aw, it's alright. writer's block happens to everyone at some point. it happened to me several times while i was writing pictures from italy. (and i must add, isn't it odd that people seem to love the one fic you spent only a few hours on but then ignore the one that took you forever and a lot more thought to write?) i don't know what to tell you though since we all react differently to different things that could be inspiration. i was able to write through my blocks when i went to the opera (which helped along that scene set in roma), completely ignored the fic to work on something new (collecting words), and found the perfect song for my mood.

yeah, i know that he's graphic. my friends were all speculating about it. some of them seem to think that several of his novels are all too similar and that he only writes the gore because he wants to shock readers and it's expected of him. *shrugs* but hey, i do want to read fight club.

would that book store be half-price books? because i have serious love for that place. i bought a copy of ( ... )
