Well, hmmm. Where do you normally shop and what do you normally wear? Do you like to dress conservatively, or do you like to show a little skin/wear things that are more formfitting? Bright colors? Prints?

You live in the land of outlet malls, right?

I live in San Francisco now, which is not so outlet-mall-friendly. :(

All winter long I've been wearing the same five shirts I got on crazy sale at Macy's. Most of them are black. I am kind of sick of wearing black. I like things that fit--I hate that fat girl mindset that says "If I'm swimming in fabric, maybe no one will notice that I'm fat." I don't wear a lot of t-shirts because I can't find many that actually have some waist shaping. I love empire waists and flowy things because I am self-conscious about my mama belly. I love skirts.

Normally, I shop at Old Navy and Lane Bryant. When Macy's has their huge sales I will go there, too, but I only buy things on sale there. I have some button-downs from Lands' End, but I generally only wear those to dress up events.

Ah, your profile says Orlando. :)

I get a lot of my empire waist stuff at Lane Bryant (though I'm bigger than you) - and they have a huge sale going on right now. Maybe try Target or Kohl's. I'd say try the Avenue or Ashley Stewart, but I don't know if they have any of those near you.

I personally like those scoop-neck shirts you sometimes find at Old Navy and places like that. I'm also fairly busty, so I can't wear stuff like v-necks without something underneath it (actually that's something else you ought to consider! V-neck with a tank top underneath it = cute and not revealing) but the scoop-neck ones are usually fine in the boob department, for me.

Tunic tops.

I haunt Ebay and google up for kurti that are in some work-friendly prints/decoration - nothing too blingy.

I also scored some Sweet Pea by Stacy Frati tops on Ebay. Mesh tops, suitable for warm-weather wear. Lots of empire styles. Necklines are low enough on most that a cami is appropriate for professional ladies of any age but SF rarely gets that hot, nu?

Google for Stacy Frati Sweet Pea. Anthropologie and Nordstrom sell new, you might get lucky on ebay (sweet pea anthropologie is another good search term) for less $. I had a couple of links in my other email, will update post again when I found it. A lot of it is too foofy/floral for office work but I have a couple geometric ones in suitable colors.

If you sew at all, Jalie has stylish empire tops in its line. All-size patterns.

And Dharma Trading has great clothing blanks - intended to be dyed and/or decorated. I currently really love their "Berkeley shirt" - very loose and comfy woven cotton, no-button ( ... )

Anthropologie. It's that perfect business casual with a dash of flair-type option.

Check out here: http://www.jjill.com they have some nice, creative or has some interesting elements, but not the crap that requires strange hair color or a hoochie mama persona.

I think the sizes have run "small" in the past -- and ymmv on that observation, but its always been cute, respectable and well made stuff. Good luck! and I hope you find some fab stuff to wear to work!
