Hubby and I went to see The King's Speech last night.

It was absolutely brilliant!

If Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush do not take home Oscars for those performances, there is something dreadfully wrong with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences!

Someone on my friends list said this was their fave movie of the year (2010) and I hadn't heard of it. Now I really want to see it!

It's only playing in three of over a dozen local theaters so you might have to look for it, but it is well worth searching for.

I think it has just jumped into Fir(th)st place as my favourite movie! Sorry, I couldn't resist. ;b

Oh yes! And this is Colin Firth as you've never seen him before!
I knew he was good in the lighter roles, but I really had no idea he was such a brilliant dramatic actor. Somehow I was less surprised about Geoffrey Rush.

Three of my favourite actors - I'm there! (I just hope it's showing in our town and that the cinema owner isn't waiting until it's out at discount rates!)

Yes, Helena Bonham Carter is a favourite of mine as well. And she was very good in this movie (as always) but her role was considerably smaller than those of the two fellows. Still, I enjoyed her part very much too!
