I've slept 5 out of the last 72 hours. The cause of this tour de force was a horrible tear-inducing aching of my left incisor, which, after a painful trip to New York and a surprisingly relaxing root canal procedure, has finally subsided

Okay, so, my family went on vacation without me because they had Broadway tickets to Wicked and I had wicked pain in the back of my mouth. It got so acute that I arranged for an emergency root canal and took a cab to the doctor's office, where the procedure was (as you said) surprisingly painless. My problem was that I didn't have enough money to get home, and none of my friends were picking up. I was dialing on my cell phone as I walked through the front exit, and a bitchy oldish lady behind me said, "Thank you ever so kindly" (for not holding the door for her?).

It took me a second to even figure out what she was talking about, and then I burst into tears, and she looked weirded out. So I think I won that exchange.

Anyway, the problem with root canals is that they take several tedious sessions before you have a permanent crown. The worst is yet to come.

What exactly was wrong with your tooth? I guess I'm not totally sure what a root canal entails.

I'm glad you're feeling better, I hated that you were so miserable. But I should've remembered that you're an absolute beast. Have a good break!

Woah, my email just told me about this comment today. That reminds me of that SNL skit where it's an ad for a delivery service that makes your package seem as if you sent it on time but arrived late because of the company's error, but in fact you had sent it late and they just made it look beat up and covered it in stamps from Bulgaria and Denver and other wrong parts of the world. Some day I'll make that a reality.

Oh yeah -- thanks for worrying! Had I gotten this in time it would have made me feel much better ;)
