Visiting old friends and places and lovers forces you to confront previous or alternate versions of yourself. It's a minor effort to remember which version you are now, and to remain committed to it. OhLife isnt working. I'm not capable of writing without even a hypothetical audience, And the daily diary thing led to an infinite sequence of utterly insipid sentence fragments. livejournal leads to a highly skewed representation of my life at my craziest moments but at least thats vaguely entertaining years later... 

Well I found this other journaling site OhLife that I like - it emails you every day at 8pm and you reply to the email and it updates from there automatically. Not a blog, all private I think. It's strange to feel such an intense love for the place my most miserable eight months took place in. yesterday I wrote a 15 page research proposal. today I spent nearly as long trying to hack mendeley to export the correct bibtex tags so that the correct things will show up for working papers and conference papers when compiled. arrrrrrrrrrgh. i finally made it work though.

now one referee report, one problem set, and two finals left.

there's dried blood all over the door panelling, but my car door now locks... i am awesome.

now for speaker rewiring.

My car door is bashed in and unusable, the window shattered, and I go in and out the window like in dukes of hazzard. but dammit it still drives and I love it and it's useful and it'd be a giant pain in the ass to try to replace. so I'm still very protective of it.
