My broken heart

Vesna went to sleep for the last time on August 8 at 7:15 pm. She was on Marcus's lap, purring, and I got to kiss her and tell her how much she meant to me. It was the saddest moment of my life, but I felt at peace because she was happy at that moment, she was surrounded by love ( Read more... )

I started to cry just reading this. I am so sorry for your loss, I dread having to make such a decision with my pets someday, but its an understandable one. I am glad you have each other for comfort.

You know what's funny, making the decision was the easiest part of everything. Vesna knew she was dying, _we_ just didn't know it. I even think that Eowyne (the other cat) knew too. We humans miss out a lot of cat communication, and now looking back I think she was getting ready for it. While she was still playful and loving this weekend, she had kind of stuck to one corner of the bathroom and just hung there for hours at a time. At the hospital, she was calm and loving, but she looked tired. She was purring when we put her on Marcus's lap and called the Vet. Just waking up and coming outside, and I wanted to say I love you and I'm sorry for your loss.

I was very confused as to who you were when I saw the message in my email box, then even more so when I saw the message was deleted. But I was able to put two and two together when I came across your page and saw the pictures you posted here. It's funny that you found me the way you did (how did you come across me anyways?) because just last week another guy from our high school classes started working where I work. Anyways, hope all is well with you, and keep in touch if you'd like. And I'm sorry for your kitty. I know what that's like unfortunatly :(

And it's alright. You weren't half as bad as the majority of people, and you were actually nice to me most of the time. It's ancient history now anyways. And it shaped me into the woman I am today, and that woman has a great life now, with a great fiancee.
