Nope, the entry still needs to be public on LJ to get FBC'd.

And what's with them changing the 'Default security level' of entries to 'Minimum security level', which means if you have it set as 'Friends' you can't even select 'Public (everyone)' on the Post page ?

This mysteriously stopped working for me some time back. No amount of turning it off both ends and then back on would make any difference. So, it's been off both ends a few days now, let's see what happens now.

My sleep pattern might, just might, be getting around to something sane again. I say this despite the fact I went to bed not long before 17h yesterday and was awake again by midnight.
