How Did You Spend Your Weekend?

Jul 25, 2010 11:38

Well, I spent my Saturday in the Emergency Room for 4.5 hours... in my swimsuit.

No, this is not a tagline for the next Anne Hathaway romantic comedy. This really did happen, and it sucked. At least nodiskette was an awesome friend and kept me company the whole time freezing in the ER waiting for the doctor to fix me ( Read more... )

my body hates me, movies, owie, firemen, oh noes, hospital

Yeah, pretty eventful. Sadly it wasn't really that fun since most of the day was stuck being in the hospital. But at least I get two days off from work to make up for the lost time. lol

Ouch. I hope you feel better soon! *hugs* But yay for 10 men attending you! WIN! :P

Hawaii! ♥ I hope you recover quickly to enjoy the stunning islands. :)

Thanks! Yes, 10 men attending to me was nice even though I smelled like chlorine my arm was all funky looking. lol

So far I haven't needed my pain meds, so that's a plus.

I'm sure I should recover by Hawaii. The nurse was like saying how I was pretty healthy and they didn't mention any major tissue damage since I didn't feel any tingling and my fingers weren't turning blue.

Can't wait for Hawaii!

Upside being you met 10 firemen and paramedics?

Is it strange that firemen would attend to your emergency call? Or is that standard op?

Glad to hear that your arm is alright. Looks like your typing remained unaffected. :)

lol yep. The funny thing is earlier this week I had training at our County Fire Department Headquarters and all those firemen were hot. And then Saturday I actually get to sort of meet the firemen. Though they were not part of the County, but the city I live in.

It's standard op for us that every time there is an emergency call the firemen show up along with the paramedics and the police. The whole entourage always appears. Also I think our paramedics are part of the fire department.

I was 10 the last time I spent the afternoon in the ER in my bathing suit. And what's with you getting injured? I'm supposed to be the klutz! Is it wrong of me to be jealous that you had 10 men with their attention on you?

In all seriousness, I'm glad you are basically okay, even if you are stuck in a sling. Is typing hard? And excuses for missing work are always good! Hope your arm fully heals quickly!

What did you do to end up in the ER with your bathing suit? Good to know, I'm not the only one who has sat in the ER in my swimsuit at one point in time.

Hm... I don't know. I've been a bit klutzy lately. It was funny because one of the paramedics asked if I was a athletic person, because I have a few scars. Though now that I think about it, I'm not sure what he was looking at to make that comment. But I bascially told him I'm just a klutz. lol

I guess you could be jealous of me... just a little bit, because well... having ten men trying to make you as comfortable as you can with a deformed arm is not a common occurrence. ;)

Typing isn't hard. My phalanges are work fine. As long as I keep my upper arm and shoulder immobile, I'm good for typing. Though my arm is still a bit swollen.

I sliced my chin open at the Toilet Bowl (this place in Hawaii now closed to the public due to it being, well, dangerous, I believe). I had to sit there dripping wet while they stitched me up.

Being a klutz is not necessarily a bad thing - you learn to deal with public falls and injuries quite well! Last January I even fell down the stairs at school and my students kept asking me if I was embarrassed. I told them it happened to often to embarrass me anymore.

I'd like to have ten men trying to comfort me in almost any circumstance!

I've heard about the Toilet Bowl. And ouch having to get stitches on your chin.

That is true. I'm always running into things in the office. That's why I don't wear shorts often. I always have some sort of bruise on my leg. I'm sure if I looked now I probably have a bruise somewhere. :p

I'd like to have ten men trying to comfort me in almost any circumstance!

When you put it that way... I guess if you have good insurance and you're a klutz you should use it to your advantage. Not that I'm advocating getting set to the ER all the time. lol

Ugh, I hate ER departments ... but I'm glad to know it wasn't worse!!

I keep hearing good things about Inception. And 500 Days of Summer is good :)

Yeah, everyone tells me how the ER is always about waiting. Unless you're arm is falling off, you're going to be sitting there for a while.

Inception is definitely worth watching. I highly recommend it. So far most of the movies I've seen directed by Chris Nolan have been movies I really enjoyed watching. :)
