Aaah. I remember the early days of contact lensdom. Once I put them in the wrong eyes. Realised my mistake after i fell off the train having completely misjudged the distance. Look out for that one.
I can only offer the assurance that it gets a LOT better with practice. Because, quite frankly, you are completely right about lenses. They are scheming little bastards whose dearest wish is to make you scream in agony every time you blink.
You just have to show them who is boss. Try reminding them that you could easily switch back to glasses, and they would become entirely obsolete. That usually sorts tham out for a bit...
