the classic sound of shit hitting the fan

Dear hand painted marionettes,

Well, the seasons of exams is upon us, batter down the hatches, say farewell to guilt-free leisure time and accept the tide of comfort eating and sleepless nights rolling towards us like a terrible concrete sea. However, despite the impending storm there are still patches of sunshe; not the least of which was our 6th ( Read more... )

No shit.

I've only just realised that in four weeks' time our exams properly start. It took a looong time for the simple fact that we're leaving in two weeks to mesh together with the fact that the exams start two weeks after than, therefore meaning that I have to start taking this seriously. Fuuuuck. Even if I slave solidly from now until round about the 27th June, I don't think I'll ever feel like I've done enough revision.

I don't want to leave! The sadness of that is only heightened by the fact that we leave all the good stuff behind to go into a month of molten shite in exam form. Man, I'm going to miss LMS. I hope we're remembered once we're gone - not as much as I'm going to remember it, the inequality of student-teacher relationships striking again to ram home how much more important they are to us than we are to them - but to have the idea that the system doesn't just roll relentlessly on and forget everyone who's come out the other end would be really nice.

We have to stay in contact, Athene. It's not an option to lose ( ... )

My first exam is three weeks away (chemistry AS repeat) and my next exam is less than four weeks away too (History). Shit. I am completely screwed. Despite the fact that I have been working I'm still nowhere near being ready for them. For example, the Atonement and North and South exam, I have so few quotes and I don't know them off by heart, I'm going to have to literally paper my house. It's so true, we have sad leaving time, then we have shitty exam time then brief nice time then off to OZ. I am going toi fail I can just tell, I've barelyrevised english or history, unless you count half-arsedly rereading Atonement as revision. I'm going to have to reread it again straight afterwards and make quote banks, oh the fun. I know, the crappy part is that we shoudl just be free to soak and appreciate our last days in Lady Megs and enjoy the teacher's company but as it is we have to spend every waking moment revising and working ( ... )
