Que es esta?

Ok. I'm awake right now because I am periodically awoken - out of a dead sleep - by intense stomach pain. I have no idea what the cause is. I only EVER have pain like this after I've been asleep. No other time. And it seems no matter what I do, I can't do anything to fix it. I just have to wait it out, which could be hours from now ( Read more... )

Ew, I know exactly what you're talking about. To me it feels more like it's in my uterus area, except that it's never been during or near period-time. It's just HAY ALL UR ORGANS R GOING 2 TWIST THEMSELVES INTO OBLIVION FOR 2 OR 3 HOURS ENJOY!

But, when I told my doc about it, she gave me samples of a strong antacid. Gee, thanks.

Dude, that licks. I am mos def NOT seeing a doctor about it, for that precise reason.

This is definitely stomach pain, as opposed to generically abdominal. And BTW, I never did go back to sleep. I've been awake since 2:00 a.m. this morning, and considering that I went to sleep at 12:30 a.m., my tolerance for humans today is at an all-time low. Guess a university with 20,000 18 and 19 year olds on campus is NOT the place to be.

Try stretching the abdomen muscles? My stomach cramps up after sleeping on my bad...I do some stretches and it gets better. I have a shitty bed, though.

I'll try that. What kind of stretches do you do?

Good God, I hope not. Although it did occur to me that a similar situation might be occurring with me, only substitute "part of his intestinal tract" for "parasitic alien" and "mesenteric artery" for "my tummy".

Dude, it most likely IS an ulcer. Especially with all of the coffee and beer you guzzle! Mine was always worse after sleeping. Especially after napping in the afternoon. I'm not sure why that happens, but it does. I wouldn't bother going to the doc, either, because all they will do is put you on a trial of antacid medication which is all available OTC. Just go get a two week supply of Prilosec from the drug store and see if it helps. If it does, than it's an ulcer. And if it doesn't, well, you might die or something, but hopefully not! :)

Wull, you remember when I really had an ulcer earlier this year, and I laid off the coffee for awhile? It doesn't feel like that. Like, it doesn't hurt in one small part of my stomach. It hurts like...like...you know what it feels like? You know when you get SO hungry you think your stomach is starting to eat itself? It's like that, times ten. But every time I think it IS that, and I eat a little something, it just gets worse. And it hurts if I press my tummy, and I also get kinda nauseous, but never really quite manage to puke. (Believe me, at about 6:00 this morning I got a jar of Keek's babyfood out of the fridge and sniffed that for a minute because that shit usually smells so foul, and even THAT didn't do the trick!)

Well, they can be different depending on where in your stomach you get them, but that all sounds pretty much like ulcer symptoms, and EXACTLY like what mine felt like. I'm tellin' ya, take Prilosec for two weeks and see if it helps. It's like 15 bucks, and it certainly won't hurt you. The worst that could happen is it just may not do anything.
