Bonjour :)

LOL. You know I never got an A in English. My average mark was C in high school :) Then I forgot almost everything (I only praticed German at Uni). And i have been praticing my English for 18 months now. It isn't too broken now.
(and thank for dropping me a line -- I've added you back)

And of course, I am a big HG/SS shipper (as well as the majority of my flist). That's even why I did befriend unwoundfantasy, she was writing a so sweet story.

Thank you for visiting me! Et bienvenue !

I speak French and enjoy reading the Harry Potter books in French and Italian.

You know, you are braver than I. I think the French translation of the Harry Potter books is just weird and not very well done! (even if I like the "Moldu" word!)

I have to say that I so want to learn Italian. Maybe later when I will find some time :) Italy is such a wonderful country (art, literature, history, landscape and food and so on). In France, the saying goes that "l'italien est la plus belle langue du monde !" And today is a great day for Italy, if I might add :)

I am "collecting" other Europeans on my flist!!
Of course, I have added you. :)

Merci!!

I get very excited when I find new people for my flist! I'm glad you think that of the Frnech HP's too, I'm pretty appalled at the language used and I don't think they improve as each book comes out.

Having said that, there are some fabulous words and choixpeau is my favourite, it works better in French than in English!

and I remembered to go back in and add you - lol, sometimes my brain is a bit slow!

I've read the first books in French. At that time, my English was really gone. In high school, I wasn't that good in English (I really disliked the language). Well, until 2 years ago when I found Potterfictions or so... and then with the help of online translators and good dictionaries, I began to remember my 8 years of English study in school. Not easy. Now, I read easily in English -- (I still have a rusty writing, though. I have discovered that the English version of HP is much more better. But in English one needs fewer words to express something, I think English is a precise language. See, a Muggle-born witch sounds odd in French "une sorcière née de Moldus" or something like this.
As for choixpeau, that's true. But because it's a bit like chapeau. The translator played with the sound. But the style is crappy. I am reading the Wheel Of Time, a friend gave me for Christmas the French translation of book1. It was crappy and they had split in two the book. She sent me from the US book2 (unvailable in amazon.fr and .uk) and it was a ( ... )

Hello Atlantel,

I have a question regarding beta-reading of a french short story. Snarkyroxy suggested I contact you. My mail is sylvanawood@yahoo.ca -- and I wouldn't mind being on your friends list either. :-)

Thank you so much
Sylvana
