Marc had just finished his lunch when another call came in from Sheppard for him. Apparently there really was something more than some flickering lights out where his team had swept earlier that day. On the radio, Major Sheppard was asking what was happening, and Marc answered, "We can see something - there's this big black, blob, cloud sorta thing up ahead. Hey - I think it's coming-"

He cut off as Ford and Sheppard both ordered them back, and Marc started backing up. Ahead of them, the cloud was spread across the entire corridor and coming at them fast. Marc opened fire but unsurprisingly the bullets had no effect. He and the lieutenant turned to run, but Marc could tell there was no way they'd get to the intersection in time.

Aiden looked around frantically, giving up on firing at the damn thing, due to the lack of effect Bates' weapon had. He looked to his left and saw a room, pushing Bates into it and tried desperately to follow, but the pain was too much, and he screamed as Bates dissapeared from his line of sight.

"Fuck!" Marc fell into the room and turned just in time to see Ford disappear into the cloud. Desperately he reached out, gritting his teeth against the pain, and managed to grab hold of the lieutenant's arm. He pulled him inside and watched as the entity passed by, ignoring them completely. A few seconds later it was gone, and the lights came back on.

"Man down," Marc said into his radio as he sat up and checked the lieutenant out. He could hear Sheppard echoing his order, and a moment later the medical team's response. He checked Ford's pulse and asked, "You with me, sir?"

Aiden groaned, his eyes rolling back. He heard Bates' voice before fading into black, slipping into unconciousness.

Marc sighed and scooted back so he could sit against the wall, doing his best to ignore the pain in his arm. A few minutes later the medics arrived, and after a few token protests he allowed himself to lifted onto one of the stretchers and carted off. Shortly after that, they were in the infirmary and surrounded by doctors and nurses.
