Marc had just finished his lunch when another call came in from Sheppard for him. Apparently there really was something more than some flickering lights out where his team had swept earlier that day. "Some sort of big-assed energy monster," Marc replied, while glaring at the nurses. "Got the lieutenant pretty good, burnt my arm, too."

"Energy monster?" Carson and the nurses weaved around Ford, checking his vitals and examining the burns, frowning at the extent. "How long was the monster in contact with Lieutenant Ford?"

"Maybe twenty seconds, thirty at most before I got him out. Call it two minutes before the medics arrived." Marc scratched his head with his good arm. "It felt like my arm was on fire, but not like a real fire or hot metal. It was...staticy, too."

"How long were you in contact with it?" Carson asked in between snapping out orders to the nurses. Bates' burn wasn't nearly as bad as Ford's. "Did he get the full brunt of the monster's attack?" And god, wasn't that something he'd never thought he'd be saying in his career.
