Radek stalked out into the hallway after Evan, still angry, but beginning to calm. It wasn't Evan he had the problem with. "Fine, we talk, then we can get to work with the explosives." Blowing things up sounded really good right now.

Radek glared at Evan, than the door. "He just wouldn't quit. He keeps prying, and finally he gets me to tell him things--and then it is my fault, suddenly, when he cannot handle it." Radek shook his head. "It would have been fine if he hadn't cornerned me."

"Yes," Radek growled, "I realize how much trouble it could have brought. Believe me, I tried to keep my distance but he backed me into a corner and then he hit at me, and...." Radek shook his head. "You're right; it doesn't matter. I was going to leave, but he wouldn't stop."

"Why do you think I tried to avoid getting involved?" Radek asked. "There comes a certain point...I cannot think, I just have to defend myself. I've spent twenty years trying to move past it, believe me."

Radek sighed. "Yes...believe me, it's...with Rodney, it's complicated, my feelings for him, they make everything more difficult, and--" He frowned. "I'm trained to defend myself, there is a certain point when I have to. It is not as if I go looking for fights."

Radek sighed. "I know. Believe me, I know." He shook his head. "I have been working with Kate...I...." He sighed again. "For so long, I had to react to every touch, it could have been anyone, an enemy...I lived every day in fear of my life. I want to let it go, but it is hard."
