Anyway, for my Jade app, which I am currently working on. In his canon, Jade is a scientist-turned-military officer, which is basically what he's going to be here, as well. I am trying to cleave as close to his canon as possible in an AU setting, which means I am wondering about how to translate his scientific accomplishments(in his canon, he was well-known for his scientific theories and regarded as something of a genius for them).
Anyway, in canon, Jade comes up with the theories behind creating replicas(basically, clones), using his canon science which bears little resemblance to real-world science. Now, clearly cloning is vastly beyond the capabilities of the era. However, simply coming up with theories about its potentially being possible and uses it could be put to would not be, right? It would be a case of "if we can actually find a way to replicate this, we could potentially do that", rather than his actually being able to put any of his theories into effect thanks to the limitations of the
( ... )
Anyway, sure, go ahead. It sounds alright, and, according to the mod who's more familiar with Tales of the Abyss, it's very fitting of Jade's character.
Which idea are you okaying? XD I kind of tossed like three or four out there. His having come up with a cloning theory/applications for such, or his being involved in the nuclear project? And, if the latter, in what way would work best? (As in, would it be better/more feasible for him to have been involved with the bomb itself or to have been involved in theorizing the effects of such a bomb upon humans? If it's the latter, I'd want to talk to you guys even further as to what sort of knowledge he'd have about that - in his canon Jade is generally Mr. Exposition in that he knows a lot about things that are a mystery to everyone else, so naturally it'd be neat and canonically accurate for him to have some insight on the zombies, but I want to strike a balance between that and not overstepping myself. ^^; )
I really like the look of things here, and I've actually got a few ideas on who I might play... but first, I've got a couple questions.
1) Just how realistic are we going to be with race relations/segregation? Considering it's 1955 in-game, and I know the Ohio Civil Rights Act wasn't around until '59...
2) Okay, so aliens are allowed... just how alien can the aliens look?
1. Well, it kinda seems like this entire town is a giant conglomeration of different races, so there's no overt segregation, but there should be racism, if that makes sense.
2. I guess they can look as alien as you want, if they have a human disguise? I'll have to discuss that with the other mods (who aren't around at the moment), so I'lll get back to you.
1. Makes sense! Thanks for being so prompt about this.
2. He could feasibly have a cloaking device of some kind (canonically the Spazzy Green Man in question is a genius-level inventor)... but I'll wait for your answer to see if it'd be okay to have it break down at some point. (Don't even know if I'll app him... so I won't be too broken-hearted if you say no.)
Firstly, is there any sort of time system in the game? Something with which to establish thread continuity(especially if, for example, a building gets destroyed in one thread and in another it's being overrun with zombies because no one is sure when things happen)?
Secondly, is it all right to be in more than one thread at once? This makes more sense with a time system, since you can make sure that your character is never in two places at the same time, but it could work anywhere so long as the player keeps a sort of internal timeline. I can understand if you don't want that in your game, but I thought I'd ask.
I've been in games that don't allow thread duplicity, so I figured I'd ask first. ^^
The timeline I'm used to is a pretty involved system and I don't think it would be appropriate for this game, but having some idea of when things happen would be amazing. XD
XD Yeah, that'll happen. The game's been kinda slow lately, so yeah.
But the mods will be posting when things are happening, like the last mod post which explained what's going on. Those will be frequent.
We figure we'll start giving out mini-quests once the zombies arrive and post frequent updates on what buildings are overrun, which are safe and what npcs are dead? So you don't have to worry about that, if that answers your question?

Anyway, either one works best--he could have theories about cloning, or could've been involved in the nuclear project. We're not opposed to either.
Message me on zombie squall and we can talk about this further, since that seems like an easier way to settle this, aye? XD

To make it quick.~
Yes to the professor (she'll get some discrimination at work, but you know~) and sure, the murder can stay.
Sorry about the delay again. D: AHH.

And yes, it is possible. 'Cause not all threads happen at once. XD Right?
