i'm pretty much the opposite. for most of my teenage years, i had no friends (literally) and was pretty estranged from my family, so i spent the majority of my time alone. the exception was music events, which i would spend 1.5 hours on the bus getting to, show up and know nobody, talk to nobody, and then wait somewhere until the buses started running again at 6am. usually i'd be at a crappy diner, but sometimes just a bus stop in rainier beach or south seattle or wherever the crap for 3 hours+. i lived alone for most of my adult life, and through much of that was 'single' in the sense of either not having a primary partner or having one that i saw at most 3x/week. so it's when i see someone regularly that i start to feel freaked out / weird / trapped / panic attack-y. in my last arrangement with someone i lived with, we had an agreement that we'd only hang out / sleep together tuesday, thursday, and every other weekend... despite living in the same house ( ... )
