Well the house is a lot better than it was - still very dusty and bits still to get finished when I get some money The drainpipe fell off the front of the house this morning but I think I can fix it back. But we are getting nearer to the point of being able to have a lodger and hence the £400/month that would bring in (minus the cost of their food ( Read more... )

I have finally managed to get back onto my LJ having got in a mess with passwords - but now back to my normal memorable one. I am here at 4.45a.m. - not able to sleep for worrying anout work - listening to world service and now worrying about Africa and global warming. Well we are entering our seventh month of the dust and it is showing only slight signs of abating. However we now have three floors well laminated against all attack and a ground floor shower room and loo emerging. Tuesday we have the visit from the inspector - now the builder reveals that the foundations might need to be 400 mm deeper ! Oh well ( Read more... )

Well yesterady started in a tricky way - got up at 6 a.m.- with no contact lenses in - hence blind as a bat 9but without sonar ) , switched on light in bedroom - light bulb exploded in shower of sparks, fused the lighting circuit. Found me way downstairs - got lamp to plug in , fuses and screwdriver - decided needed to have lenses in. Found them ( Read more... )

Well life continues - new job at the College was a bit strange at first - I really thought I had made a big mistake - but I am bit more relaxed about it now. I think I have just realised what LJ is for - I'm sat here feeling cold and miserable with loads of work to do and no motivation, and no-one to tell. Everyone I care about seems to be having a difficult time and I can't do anything to help them.
