humans love to organize and categorize our world and young toddlers are evidence enough it is an innate biological imperative. i recently began working at a montessori school. in the toddler room the shelves are have a sparse offering of toys and everything is labeled and has it's 'place.' most calm peaceful room of toddlers i have ever seen.
