The choice was clear when I woke from the ice, once I learned what Megatron's command was like, and met Optimus Prime--but if I had returned with Starscream all those millenia ago, and lived in the same declining world with him? Would I have fallen under Megatron's spell? Or would Starscream have joined Optimus Prime's cause along with me? Would he have been so terribly hardened and scarred?
They reached the elevator; Skyfire had to crouch down once again to ride the car to the top of the tower.
Echoshift is right; I'm thinking about this too much. Might-have-beens are a waste of time. The important question is 'Did I do the right thing?' In this case, I had no choice, so there is nothing worth considering in my past.
I can't answer that question for Starscream. He has to do it himself.
