I voted for Obama. I agree with a lot of your cons list, but at the same time, I feel like Hillary's cons are much worse than Obama's, and his pros far outweigh hers. If she wins, I will vote for her, but I think Obama is the better candidate here.

you know, looking at my list after you said that, i definitely have to agree. and his biggest pro is that I think he has the best chance of beating McCain who is all but guaranteed the GOP nomination. that was my thought process when I pulled the lever for him :) maybe to vote based on hypothetical electability this early on is not the best way, but... whatever. Gotta think practical.

I'm 100% behind Hillary. I've actually gone from being apathetic about Obama to having actual hatred for him, which sucks intensely, but it's mainly to do with his supporters. Also, he's very faddish, which terrifies me. I've loved Hillary since the 90s when I was a tot. Obama's all new and sparkly, but, honestly? I'm not biting. =\

hmm.. what do you mean by faddish?

his newness and sparkliness makes me automatically suspicious of him, and i remained so even as i pulled the lever for him.

Well, for example, where I go to school voting for/supporting Obama is basically a one-way route to getting patted on the back and at least getting a small smile from the majority of your classmates. Supporting anyone else results in rioting. From what I can tell, that's true of a lot of schools, and I'd go so far as to say it's probably the majority. It's very "in" to like Obama, and that extends far beyond the 18 year-old realm, but into the media, the entertainment industry, etc. Now, does that mean he might not be an amazing President? No. But I am very, very worried about sending someone in who is relatively unvetted, has a chorus of adoring admirers, has never faced real mudslinging (the idea that Hillary's minor "slumlord" line is more harsh than "anything the GOP could throw at him" -his words, I believe-, is laughable), and holds rock-star-like "concerts" where he literally acts like a famous preacher speaking to his audience. The preacher-thing worries me. A lot. And some of his biggest converts don't help when they say that ( ... )
