Well!  Just finished Phase Two of eggnog making (gossip in Friend's kitchen while I whip cream), so I have cracked open the bottle of sherry I got earlier.  I have never had sherry before, so I grabbed the one that was inexpensive-but-not-cheap and called 'Amontillado ( Read more... )

It depends on whether you like sweet or dry sherry. I have a bottle of cream sherry--Taylors, a low-end NY brand--and while I use it mostly for cooking, a splash to deglaze veggies--it's not so bad to sip.
