Bagels and Lox Salad
Russian meals often start with a hearty cold “salad,” of fish, noodles, potato or pickle. Here is my Manhattan version of the starter salad. The fam seemed to really enjoy this one, especially the flagels J which is great because this is by far the easiest recipe in this collection.

2 cups whole wheat flour (it might be buckwheat)
2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup veg oil
2 eggs
3/4 cup white sugar

My dad prepped the Hannukah dish. Here are Christmas and Kwanza!
7 fishes Stew
1/4 cup evo
2 medium onions, diced
18 cloves garlic, diced
12 TB fresh thyme
1 medium bunch of carrots, sliced
2 28-oz cans of whole peeled tomatoes
2 ribs celery, sliced thinly

Nina’s Cannoli Cake!
Nina really likes cannolis. So I made a cake as cannoli-ish as I could get, with a ricotta filling and a very fluffy icing. I was *very* happy with this golden cake, and I will definitely use this cake base again.

Restaurant week reviews - The National, Spice Market (+Ma peche)
I missed half of the 20-day extended restaurant week this year because I was in Barbados (yay) but this week I made up for it by going out to dinner 5 times. 2 restaurant week dinners, plus Kefi, Ovest Pizzoteca, and Ma Peche. I can't write about every single meal so I'm writing about 3 :)
