i used to use blogspot to host my blog, then they changed the ads (which i had a code to make it disappear) to that blogthis thing at the top, and it ruined the way i had been implementing it to my site.. so that pushed me to finally get my domain and get it hosted there instead... thinking of changing to b2 or wordpress or something soon too.. >_<"
i agree with the customizing layout thing. even tho i have a paid account, i dont customize it cos its a tad bit too confusing for me. >_<"
tho with free users, i think u can use overrides to do quite a few things.. but again - too complicated for me to understand.. :P
well im not sure about subdomains, but with cpanel, you can login without ftp.. but its annoying load files one after another..
you should find some space where you can just ftp your blog to (so you dont get that ugly thing at the top, tho if it matches your bg, its all good), which you will then get the option to get that thing away, and then.. implement it into a layout.. even if its hosted at geocities or whatever.. >_<" you can still blog with blogger.. :)
