Another Army rant
Do you know what really boils me? My husband, my father-in-law, my cousin, and several friends were sent to a camp to train for their upcoming tour to Iraq, but THEY AREN'T DOING ANYTHING!!! They take them from their families, and then tell them that they don't have hardly any time to see them because they're "so busy training", but yet they have ( Read more... ) -

Things are the same for the most part. No new news I guess; I found out about some new pregnancies, some new engagments, and some new babies. But nothing just earthshaking ( Read more... ) -
The beginning is near
Michael told me last night that the guys actually get to come home for a 5 1/2 day leave from Camp Shelby, MS in September. I'm SO thankful they get to come home... Michael really wanted to see everyone again before they fly out. And they're actually bussing them home instead of making us pick them up and drive them back ( Read more... ) -

It's the Military life
Karen and I are in the middle of making plans to see Michael and Buck for July 4th. We have the hotel rooms reserved for two nights, figuring out what all we need to take with us for them, etc. All is well. Then, Michael has a meeting with Captain Hare (their Commanding Officer), and he tells me he'll call back when that's finished. So I'm waiting ( Read more... ) -

It's nights like this one that I'm so incredibly grateful for such a wonderful God to carry my burdens for me. Otherwise, I'd be in a world of trouble.
And yet, even so, I'm still struggling not to cry... I miss him so much. -
Summer time
I went with Karen and Dylan to a birthday party for one of Karen's friend's nephew. Point Mallard park in Decatur. My face got burned :(. It's the first time I've been swimming this summer (not the first time this year... because of my honeymoon in April). I had fun, but I'm definately ready for a nap. Wasting time
I miss Michael :(. I get to talk to him about an hour each night, but it's just not the same. I recently found that buying him junk to mail to him helps me feel better, but that gets expensive (and we're broke for now). I just bought him a ton of snacks, a sudoku game, a disposable camera, and some various toiletry items. Hopefully that will last ( Read more... )
