Thank you. It'll probably be from two weeks to a month before part is done; I write at glacial, hmn, no, geological, speeds these days.

Holy crap! This is exactly the kind of story I love doing a DVD commentary/annotation for on dvd_commentary. It's meaty and involved and got lots of imaginative details and characterizations... and, of course, it's gonna be loooong. Just my kind of story!

Can't wait to see part 2!

I'm so ridiculously exited that this is part one! That means there will be a part 2 right? I hope its a work in progress, because this AU is a work of brilliance. Did Sheppard get grabbed on gate watch in the pilot ep?

I love this World you've built. SG1 only showed us little bits of this in the later seasons. I always loved the idea of the fringe culture that exists next to the Goa'uld. I really hope Universe will have it, rather then more generic downtrodden masses under an evil alien overlord.

Pretty much.

There will be a part 2, I'm working on it now. There will also be parts 3, 4, 5, and 6. That's why its tagged epic of doom. :)

SG1 only showed us little bits of this in the later seasons. I always loved the idea of the fringe culture that exists next to the Goa'uld.

I loved the stuff with Vala for just that reason. The fringe with its goofballs and exiles and smugglers and mercenaries is always more interesting to me than the shining paragons in their spitshined uniforms.

I really hope Universe will have it, rather then more generic downtrodden masses under an evil alien overlord.

From what I've read about Universe, I'm not holding out much hope it will do anything interesting or innovative. If it does, I will be happy, of course.
