Remy was still getting used to only having so much time to work and play, to live. He was glad to have Ryan, because despite everything, Ryan had come through for him. At least once during his first week on his own, independent of Eden's tutoring, Remy had let himself get distracted by work, and had very nearly fallen unconscious in the front room

"Yes, Remy. It does appear that I'm already inside..."
Julien nodded when Remy offered him a seat, striding across the room and settling on the edge of the sofa. He folded his hands, watching Remy. Eden's Childe. It was hard to imagine the mortal Remy ever looking him in the eye - sometimes it was all Julien could do to keep the boy from having as asthma attack and dropping dead in front of him.
"I had no plans for the night. What can I help you with?"Julien smiled, forcing himself not to think of Remy as the mortal boy he had been. It was time for a fresh start. "Well first of all, you can stop calling me Mister Thorn, and start calling me Julien. We're to be brothers, Remy. You're the same as I am now, and one day we'll fight ( ... )

"I'm sorry. Old habits are hard to break." He met Julien's eyes again. "A lot of things have changed, but I'm still Remy, and I am still something of your son's ex-boyfriend. You must forgive me if I slip up occasionally."
Remy watched Julien pull out his phone, check the messages with a barely perceptible crease on his forehead, as if he was expecting a fleeting disaster. He didn't find it, not in his text messages at least, and lowered the phone.

He beamed at Julien, nodding, his mind already spinning off with ideas and half-formed plans.
"I would love to help." Remy shifted a bit, tucking his legs under himself and grabbing his laptop, opening a fresh document and scrawling himself a few notes before the thoughts escaped him. "What did you have in mind?"

"Well... I don't really know. I haven't even decided what to give him yet. Your Sire isn't exactly the most... social creature, you know. I don't know if he would be interested in a party at all. I'd like to throw him one." Julien grins, genuine excitement etched upon his features.
"Something ridiculous and possibly mortal? With dinner provided, of course. I was thinking... since it's autumn and all, perhaps we could play some games of skill? There's a farm out in the middle of nowhere in Livermore that has a pretty impressive corn maze. I'm sure I could convince the owners to lend us their property for the evening. And then... we should have a fire dance." Julien glances at Remy gravely. "But in order for you to participate in such a dangerous ritual, you'll need to be True."
