THE STRANGER
So, like a good pacific northwest girl, I read the entire Stranger today. Well, actually, I didn't really READ it all, but I did skim all of it. Here are some things I learned:
* if I ever get a snowflake tattoo on my ankle, I will know of lots of shops that offer that service. There were, like, 50 ads for tattoo places.

My favorites: (listed here, because I took photos of the food, and I have to do SOMETHING with them):
Filet mignon meatball, with a quail egg on top. I have ALWAYS wanted to try a quail egg, and I was SO happy to learn that they taste just like a chicken's egg. Now I want to eat them all the time, because they are so damn cute.

They call it labor. (or if you're British, labour). And I guess it IS hard work. But I never thought it was that bad. Sure, at the peak of the contraction, you think, "I don't think I can do this anymore." But by the time you say those words, the peak is over and the contraction is easing. We had a trial holiday at our house. Everyone keeps telling us that we have the biggest house now, and can have Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners here. So we had a trial gathering here on Saturday. I believe there were 18 people, and they all fit well. Plenty of room....plenty of chairs (thanks to the Jepsons)....plenty of food.

TRADITION
Baby Harper was initiated into a Boyle-Beck family tradition.
We lived in Seattle until Erin was three years old. When she was little, Mom and I went shopping at Northgate AT LEAST once a week, with Erin in tow. Blast From the Past
I haven't done a food post for quite some time, so here goes. I grew up eating these. Every holiday, Grandma Katica would make them. I LOVEd the yeasty flavor of them. Good Lord....I'm not in Siberia
So as you all know, I signed up for this fancy new wireless internet service. Since moving to Ballard, it has not been working well. During a one hour computer session, I suddenly lose my connection, MANY times. I need to constantly re-log on. It has been driving me crazy, and has kept me from playing on LJ, Facebook and email.
