Egads, woman this is lovely and brilliant.
And Mummy sounds startlingly like how I sometimes feel my boys and others see me. (I know- egotistical of me... But you apparently know what it is like raising boys like those Holmes boys... )
Babbitt! My inner American Lit geek is pleased to hear that name. :)

Wonderful, wonderful. Thanks for sharing.

I'm very glad you liked it. I think it's hard for mums of young children to indulge their passions without appearing flighty, or at least (guiltily) thinking they do. So, you go girl! The Babbitt reference? Goodness, I wish I could say that I actually read the book. But no. I've just been around enough English majors to pick up a literary/cultural reference or two. Anyway, thank you for saying such nice things.

In general I don't like kidfics. But, as usually happens, when I don't like something I start thinking about why, and the next think I know I'm writing one myself. I dislike most AUs, so no doubt I'll find myself writing one of those too. Anyway, I'm pleased you took a chance on this, and I'm glad it worked for you. Lovely to hear.

Yes, I know exactly what you mean; I don't generally gravitate towards kidfic and AUs, and yet the muse compelled me to write kidfic once (in a different fandom). Never say never, right? ;)

I absolutely adored this. I love the concept as well as the way you've told the story.

"Because it makes me think of our boys." How did you know that this is exactly what I needed to hear? And having all my favorite bits quoted back to me just warms heart. Cause it means you read it like I heard it in my head and that's just wonderful.

Glad you liked Mummy, 'cause she's me, of course. At least her worries and her hopes are. Reichenbach? The pool? Always in the back of my mind. *shudder*

Ms. Merrick, I thank you for your review, overflowing with generosity and enthusiasism. Makes me very very happy.
