I did it... there is now a lovely tree glowing with holiday cheer in the living room!!  Big thanks to marnya
who helped me decorate it last night before Cedar got home.  It was the cutest thing -- I asked her to put the lights on while I vacuumed
upstairs, and she looked at me in utter terror... I had totally ignored
