As the title says, I was a supporting member of Aussiecon 4. I have not yet received my copy of the souvenir book/program book/whatever you want to call it book, and I was wondering when I might be receiving it.
Apparently there was a problem with the weight of the souvenir book in regard to the US bulk mailing permit limits so the labels and other items had to be redone for bound printed matter mailing instead. They should be in the mail in about 2 weeks or so. Our apologies for the delay.
Is this still the standard? I used to (don't any more) take out Worldcon Supporting Memberships and found it was de rigueur for my copy of the Programme/Souvenir Book to arrive sometime in the following year. For instance, my copy of the Noreascon Three PB arrived after it had received a Hugo nomination. And I (and I'm told, a number of other Aussies) never received the 1994 ConAdian PB, despite sending a number of letters about the matter....
There has been divergence from that standard. The books for the non-US non-attendees of Nippon 2007 were in the mail before the con ended, with the US-bound ones following a little later.
